What's Playing On Your Inner Soundtrack?

Yes, We Rise: What's playing on your inner soundtrack?
Is it just me? But my mind is NEVER QUIET.

I've tried YOGA, MEDITATION, TAI CHI, MUSIC, MANTRAS and PRAYER. NOTHING WORKS...

THAT CHIC IN MY HEAD WILL NOT SHUT UP!

So, one Sunday, I'm watching Super Soul Sunday and Oprah is talking to Mr. Meditation, Deepak Chopra. This dude says, he's meditating while they are sitting there talking....Huh??? They go on talking and Ms. O says, "yeah, I find the hardest part of my meditation is letting the thoughts pass..."

Boom!... there was my "Aha Moment".

It’s not about getting quiet; it’s about getting to a place where you can recognize that everything doesn't get all of your attention.

None of us are singular minded, one track beings. Many things interest us and capture our attention. Thoughts... Ideas... Dreams and Visions, they all float around in our mind all day (and nite) long. It’s how we were designed. While any number of factors can influence our mind... by far the greatest influence on us is us. We let experience, other people and life, distract and discourage us. Sometimes, it can seem like one, long negative, impossible playlist.

Here's the thing... it doesn't have to be that way.

WE decide what cuts get played on the soundtrack in our mind. In the CD player of our lives, we can always skip a track. WE have the power to decide what we hear and what we tell ourselves about who we are and what we can do. Now...sometimes, changing the track can be a little difficult. Some of us may not even know where the remote is, because we've been listening to ‘negative’ for so long that we don't even recognize what messages we are sending ourselves. That’s why we get stuck!

Believing and thinking are active not passive tasks. If we don’t take control of what we say, think and believe, then we will stay stuck. When we choose to believe differently... we start thinking differently... we speak from a new perspective and ultimately we take different actions.

CHANGE YOUR MIND, CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

The negative is still going to come...but when it does, just let it pass and fast forward to the next track. Just in case you need a little help, here are some TRACKS that I keep in regular rotation:
